          Portion Cups are made of 100% Japanese matcha and green tea extract from Uji, Kyoto. As Portion Cups come in liquid form, we are required by food authorities of Japan and other countries (US, EU, etc.) to add other natural and permitted ingredients for the following reasons: To be able to make Portion Cups in large industrial quantities, which allow us to give our customers a competitive price. To give Portion Cups a shelf life that allows our customers to stock inventory for at least a year in a stable and safe condition even at room temperature. To maintain a stable taste, texture and color during the entire shelf life of the product in addition to, obviously, the safety of the product. For these reasons, authorities allow and require us to add natural sugar and non-sugar sweeteners in addition to flavoring (to maintain and enhance taste during longer periods of time), thickening (for texture) and coloring ingredients.
